We're Back, With a New Rear End

We're very excited to be playing our first show with our new drummer, Yorck (formerly of Peter Pants, for all the local music genealogists).

The show is Thursday (April 20) at the River Roadhouse (11921 SE 22nd in Milwaukie). Yes, it's in Milwaukie- but BARELY. It's 5 miles south of the Ross Island Bridge just off of McLoughlin (99-E). Not to mention this place is called the RIVER ROADHOUSE. I mean, come on, if you're not picturing Patrick Swayze kicking ass or making sweet love up against the filthy wall of a bar, why are you looking at our website anyway?

We're playing first and should go on right around 9pm. No, our set hasn't really gotten any longer in the last 8 months, so try to actually get there around 9. Also playing will be Dissonance and Puffer (Q: Dude, how sweet is it that we are playing a 4/20 show with "Puffer"? A: HELLA fuckin sweet, brah!). Dissonance hails from Mollala and Puffer will be coming all the way from Canby. This is a fucking all-state show case! Well worth a trip BARELY OUTSIDE OF THE CITY LIMITS, you suburb-hating elitist!

We hope to see you there. Stay tuned for an upcoming EP release which is recorded and just about mixed.

Going Away Party / Need a New Drummer

Our drummer Steve is betraying us and moving to New York to become a Manowar groupie. We are doing him the favor of playing together one last time before he goes. Please come help us drink all his beer, trash his house, and scream drunken obscenities in his face about the superiority of Portland. The show is this Friday July 29th at 9pm (really! This is a house. In a neighborhood. Get there early!). The address is 5536 NE Alberta. There will be beer and a dog hobbling around in a cast. Bring a couple of bucks for beer and canine medical bills. Steve is leaving the very next day, so come out and show your appreciation for the fella who's been rushing the Bonobo Project beat since 1999. PS: Know any good drummers? Please let us know.

Thawing Out Early

So we've been laying pretty low lately. Scott's guitar and amp were stolen by a soulless parasite who we hope overdoses real soon. Scott got an even better amp and has taken to songwriting with a vengeance. Ben was in Mexico for a while. Fortunately for the band (if not for him and his tequila habit), he came back. Steve has been going on lots of dates and showed everyone his balls on New Year's Eve. Clayton has eaten several boxes of Girl Scout Cookies in the past few days. So all in all, we've been pretty busy. We're on what promises to be the heaviest bill we've played yet Sunday February 27 at Sabala's. Stonecreep. is a band we've wanted to play with for a long time and we're super excited to finally do it. Godless and World of Lies both bring a classic death metal flavor that make us sound like the Care Bears. Come check out the show so we won't be the only people hung over at work on Monday.

I Think She Liked Me....

The 10/14 show at Conan's was intense. Not only did the other three bands kick ass (especially Amongst Us -check them out) but the after party at Dino's and the after-after party where our singer received a 750ml red wine enema were the stuff of legend.

We're playing the Ash Street on 11/5. For those of you who like to plan: we're headlining Global Seepej Record's label showcase on 12/4 at Porky's.

Finally, we just found this unflattering review of last month's show at the Ash Street on someone's blog: "The Bonobo Project opened. They're young musicians who're still learning the nuances of performance. The lead singer should never wear a black lace, skintight t-shirt and vinyl pants. They pushed CD sales a lot (and who could blame them?). Their sound was basic, 4-chord rock. There was one song "...about riding the Greyhound and killing people" which I found, uhm, moving."

She totally wanted me.

Summer's Almost Gone....

We've finally got some photos uploaded, and there are more on the way. September looks to be another busy month: we'll be at the Twilight on the 9th (with LADIES' NIGHT), opening up for "Elsewhere" (a "pain based performance art troupe"- you know, people who suspend their bodied from meathooks!), LOVELY and DIESTO at the Ash Street on the 17th, making our debut at Sabala's on the 19th (with 3-INCH MAX) and at the Four Seasons Bowling Alley in Hillsboro on the 25th (all-ages, with CRESWELL and GURU GODDESS). Our live gig on KBOO was awesome- check back soon for an mp3 or two.

It's Bonobo August!

August is going to kick ass...people are loving the new CD and we're playing all over this month. We're playing Seattle for the first time August 8 at the Sunset Tavern. August 18 we're playing a live set on KBOO-FM's "Station to Station" show. That weekend (August 21) we're doing our first all-ages gig, at Solid State (898 SE Ash). Get out there and see BP!! No excuses this month! NOTE: The 8/30 show at the Twilight has been cancelled. We will play the Twilight in early September.

Coming to a Radio Near You....

Thanks to everyone who came out on a Sunday and helped blow the roof off the Twilight. The show was a lot of fun and people were incredibly receptive to the new CD. Check back soon for pictures! We're playing a live set on KBOO Wednesday August 18 at 11pm (90.7 in Portland, kboo.fm everywhere else in the world).
