Aaron
Thomas Goodrich was born in Alton, IL; just a stone's throw across
the muddy Mississippi from St. Louis, Missouri. Alton is the
birthplace of the world's tallest man Robert Wadlow and also Mile
Davis. Suffice to say role models were not hard to find.
Aaron spent his early years as a juvenile delinquent, playing in
punk rock band and experimenting with brain cell depletion. Skateboards,
cheap beer, cigarettes and good friends were the order of those
days.
After barely escaping high school Aaron enrolled at a community
college much to his parent's relief. There he had his first
experience with studio art and photography. This continued
for four years until Aaron had taken every art class the school
had to offer. A kind guidance counselor suggested that it was
time to move on.
After much soul searching, Aaron settled on Portland, OR. Why?
Because it was far away. Two wonderful years at the
Pacific Northwest College of Art taught him many things and
introduced him to many new folks.
Aaron now lives in Portland and is happily married to his partner
Cyndi. He now spends his day working at a teacher at the Portland
International Community School.
